Gummy bears osmosis

 Good morning my readers.

Last week me and my class mates were doing a gummy bear osmosis experiment. Are experiment was about putting the gummy bear osmosis in to water and naming them Sugar, Salt and Water. We also had to use water put the gummy bears in and along with a perti dish. After 48 hours we came back to the Gummy bears and to see what they had becomes.  There were different after the 48 hours. The salt one had been squish, sugar one had been smelling really good and the water one had been split apart. We also had one spare gummy bears. There were 8 by the way.

Room 14

 Good morning my readers,

Today I am going to be posting a new original story that I made it is called Room 14. Because for Eastle writing we had to finish off a sentence that said Marcus had always wondered why no one ever went to room 14, Now he knew.  So we finish that sentence. So I hope you guys enjoy reading my story.

Room 14

Marcus had always wondered why no one ever went to room 14, Now he knew. Marcus was shocked because now he knew why no one had ever been to room 14. Marcus found out about room 14 after he had been told by his teacher Miss Honey to get a piece of modelling clay from the old art room, known as room 14. He was quite happy to go there to get some modelling clay for his class projects. Once he got up from his desk, everyone was looking at him anxiously like they weren’t going to see him ever again. His best friend started to cry for no reason and Marcus wasn’t sure why his friend was so upset. However, he just started to walk to the door and headed straight to the oldest room in the school - the old art room and it was called room 14. Marcus' eyes went wide as a lemurs and his jaw dropped to the ground. As soon as he walked in, the door shut on him and there were no lights in the old art room. Marcus quickly got his phone out of his pocket and turned on the flashlight. As he slowly started moving, his spine felt something creepy shivered down his neck. But he ignored it and continued walking along the creaky wooden floor. As he walked he didn’t know that ghost haunted room 14 because a long time ago before a man chased a girl and her friends they knew his secret for stealing people's things and threatening them. The girl and her friends were cornered there was nothing they could do. Before you knew it a knife came out of the man’s pocket and he sliced their  throats open in half. There was a terrifying scream coming from room 14 that cruel night. But when people started to work in room 14 and did art a terrifying scream went on that day and people started to get frightened by  the sound and stopped when no one was in it. Marcus was getting a bit frustrated because he couldn’t find the modelling clay for the class. Marcus! Marcus Marcus lets play hide and seek. Marcus stopped dead in his tracks. He remembered that voice that sounded like his little sister Marry who was 5 years old and died a month ago because of a terrible accident. He and his sister were like the best of friends and when she died it struck him right in the chest and his heart broke like a million pieces. Marcus didn’t want to listen to the voice so he kept walking but then he started to run because he didn’t want to hear that voice anymore he couldn't hear his thoughts with that voice saying let's play hide and seek.Marcus stopped as he turned around there was a ghost there and it looked like a girl and she didn’t mean harm.

Marcus said ”Hello”

Ghost said “Hi”

Marcus said “My name is Marcus what is your name?

Ghost said “My name is Kiki”

Marcus said “Kiki I like that name”

Marcus said Kiki do you know where the modeling clay is?

Kiki replied, `` Yes I know where it is. Do you want me to show you?

Marcus reply said “With yes please”

Marcus and Kiki walked to the room where she and her friends were murder years ago. But Kiki friends were going to kill Marcus because they didn’t like people. Marcus closely followed kiki to the modeling clay room. Marcus grabbed the modeling clay in victory. But as soon as he picked it up Kiki's face was no longer happy she looked like a bad ghost. Then Kiki started to chase after Marcus and he was super scared  about Kiki. He had thought she was a good ghost but she wasn’t so Marcus ran all his life but sadly her friend caught Marcus and they strangled him to death. There was a blood curdling scream from room 14 as it reached Marcus' classroom. His best friend was crying because he knew his best friend had died.

New Invention

 Good afternoon my fab readers,

So today my teacher Mr White said we should finish are stories we started yesterday. So here is my story about a girl called Cherry and she was fascinated about air planes . So this is a original story that I made for my class so I hope you enjoy reading this original story.

It was a sunny Tokyo afternoon. Cherry had just finished school. She was just running straight home, because she was wanting to finish her secret work. She made it home and quickly finished her chores. She had saved a lot of money to buy a big piece of paper to make a huge paper air plane. When Cherry was little she loved air planes reading and drawing about them. Cherry also loved listening to stories her parents told her every second night. However one night she had a fab idea for making a paper air plane. Now her dream was coming to reality. Cherry had just finished the finishing touches on the paper air plane. She took a rest from building the paper air plane.  When she was sleeping she dreamed that she was flying her paper air plane across the sky. Once she woke up she wanted to make that dream real. She pushed the paper air plane outside and got on the paper air plane. Suddenly the wind picked up and it started to move in the air. It soared though the sky. Cherry was so happy because she had believed in herself and made a new invention.

Thank you for reading my blog post please comment. Have a fascinated day my perfect readers.

Maori Battalion

 Good afternoon my lovely readers,

Yesterday me and my class were working on the Maori Battalion. Here is my work from what I wrote in my work book. Enjoy

Hur 1: HEROES 28 (Maori) Battalion

Reference:  Gardiner, W. (2019) Ake Ake Kia Kaha E! Forever Brave! B Company 28 (Maori) Battalion 1939-1945. Bateman Books.

  1. Read the following two quotations with the teacher, discuss the meanings, and then answer the question.

..”Walter (Waata) Heretini, ‘was as blind as a bat. He couldn’t hit a barn if it was 50 metres away from him’. Like a number of others who joined the battalion, Heretini persuaded a mate to do the medical for him so he could ‘get away’.” (pp. 60-61).

“Lieutenant-Colonel Leckie ordered (Captain) Love to send a company to Musaid to strengthen the position… Love assigned the task to B Company, allocating Bren carriers to provide mobile reconnaissance. B Company was armed to the teeth, having ‘raided the enemy arms depot to some purpose. The return showed six spandaus, three anti-tank rifles, one 2-inch mortar, six tommy guns, and fifty stick grenades from this source’.” (pp. 165-166)..

Question 1.  Why were the soldiers of 28 (Maori) Battalion heroes?

The Maori Battalion was brave for sneaking behind enemy lines and taking enemy guns and stuff. Then using them in their attacks. The Maori Battalion was also brave because  they helped in the war to save lives

  1. Read the following account of the actions of stretcher-bearers (medics) with the teacher, discuss the meanings. And then answer the question::

“Two B Company stretcher bearers won immediate Military Medals for their bravery in this action. Corporal John Tupene ‘worked unceasingly throughout the night scouring the battlefield administering to and personally evacuating friend and foe alike… In one instance under heavy enemy fire he dressed and splinted the limb of a soldier of another unit and carried him out to safety’. Temporary Corporal James Pirihi worked cheerfully and untiringly treating, evacuating and burying casualties until none remained on the field.’ A week later, Pirihi ‘again showed great devotion to duty administering to friends and foe alike. In one instance in the face of enemy MG fire he dressed the wounds of a German soldier and finally carried him out to safety personally.” (p. 210).

Question 2  Why were the stretcher bearers heroes?

The war was 1939 to 1945, It was world war 2. Corporal John Tupene was awarded the MM. John Tupene was brave because he went out on the front line saving friends and foes lives.

  1. Read this account from a hard-working officer, and his concern for the soldiers with the teacher, discuss the meanings, and answer the question:

“B Company, commanded by Major Bennett, started 15 minutes after the forward companies….. With his company having lost contact with the others, Bennett dug in and awaited developments. The prospect of a German counter-attack was uppermost in his mind. ‘I was fearful for the forward troops’ welfare… We were like a little finger poked out into the enemy positions and likely to be nipped off with ease. I was not apprehensive of enemy troops but I was of his tanks. Without anti-tank defences I knew I was absolutely at the mercy of tanks should they have attacked.’ Going back to Battalion Headquarters, he found that Baker had been wounded and the temporary commanding officer, Major Hart, mortally wounded. Bennet assumed command of the battalion, a position in which he would soon be confirmed.” (pp. 212-213).

Question 3:  Why were hard working soldiers’ leaders heroes?

The leaders of the war had to try to win against the enemy and most of their soldiers weren’t killed. John Tunpene is a hero because he saved friends and foes lives. Leaders worked super hard to plan enemy attacks and to make sure most of their soldiers weren’t killed. General Kipperbuger was a hero because he went out on the front line to spot places to attack the enemy to make sure his men didn’t die. But sadly on the front line he lost his feet. Though he lost his feet he was a hero to his troops.

Bunsen Burner

Hello exotic readers,

Introduction:

Today I am going to be talking about the Bunsen Burner, Created in 1855 by a great and famous scientist named Robert Bunsen. He named his creation after himself Bunsen Burner. When I did the Bunsen Burner I kept changing the air hole to change the flame.

Describe:

There are different kinds of flame using the Bunsen Burner. I saw an invisible flame but my teacher: Miss Wheeler told me it is the safety flame. There can be different kinds of colours. When you start using the Bunsen Burner. Here are safety rules to make sure you're safe while using it.

The Safety flame helps you to turn it off. The blue flame is hottest and the yellow flame is not that hot. So this will help you when you do the Bunsen Burner.

Step number 1. First you need to have some safety goggles when you are doing experiments to protect yourself and your eyesight.

Step number 2. Make sure you have a gas emergency stop just in case it gets out of hand.

Step number 3. Before you light the flame you have to make sure the air hole is closed while doing the gas. When you're lighting the flame you should make sure it is not facing towards you cause it could set your clothes on fire.

Step number 4. After you finish lighting the flame you can move the air hole to a different position and you can do the safety flame if you want to turn it off.

Bunsen Burner Heater

Good morning my readers,

Yesterday me and my class were doing science. We were doing the Bunsen Burner but it was different than last time. We were heating water and seeing what the degree it was before. When you want to heat water faster. You can just follow my 4 steps for heating water with the Bunsen Burner.

Step 1.You will need a Bunsen burner. Along with a heat proof mat and tripod.

Step2.You will need a pair of safety goggles. A beaker and some water and a thermometer.

Step 3.When you have got it all you will set it up by a gas tap before you light the Bunsen burner you must close the air hole before doing it.

Step.4Once you get the fire going, put the thermometer and watch how the water gets hotter. But you can move the air hole after you light the flame and watch how it goes.

Here is my results for the water,

The hottest flame is the roaring flame because when me and my partner Ellenessa did the roaring flame the results went higher.

If you want here is my Evaluate practicals question for you guys to read.

Why do we need to make it a fair test? We need to make it a fair test because if you just test it on one person it works but if you do it on more than one you can get more results.

What do we need to keep fair in the test? To make sure it works more than one time because a lot of people could still have the virus so that's why we need it to be more than one.

Was it really a fair test? It was a fair test because me and my partner Ellenessa got a turn each time so it was fair by one person going first and then the other person goes after.

Skittles

 Good morning my readers,

Yesterday for my work in science we had to get some warm water in a petri dish. Then we had to put skittles in and then watch it and to see what happens. We also had to write what we saw that happen to the skittles after being in the water.

Skittle Observations

Instructions:

  1.  ¾ fill a petri dish with water.

  2. Carefully place 4 differently coloured skittles evenly spaced around the outside of the petri dish.

  3. Watch...

Observations

  • What things did you notice?  Can you make five observations?

    •   The colours are mixing together.

    •   The purple one is mixing along with the red skittle.

    •   The skittle are losing their colours.

    •   Skittles are turning into white.

    • If you use cold water the dye comes slower.

  • Did anything surprise you?  What weren’t you expecting to observe?

  • It did surprise us. Because with are teacher last year Miss T we used mentos and a coke bottle to see how it reacted. The reaction was a cool thing. It made a big fizz and it went up in the air.

Wonderings

  • What questions arose in your mind as you did this activity?

  • How did the skittles begin to lose colour?

  •  Do you have any ideas about why certain things happened?

  • While it was really cool watching the skittles.

  •  What could you do to see if your ideas are correct?

  • While we did 3 tests to make sure are ideas were correct.

Test 2: The second test was the same as the first test we did. We both said it looked the same as the first one because it looked rainbow. But then it started to lose the colours.

Test 3: Was different from the first test and the second test. Because it went to a really brown mouldy colour because the colours mix completely together.
